Week 1 Introduction

During your face-to-face meeting, you will go over course expectations and the tools you will use to participate in this class. You will bring with you the completed document as described in item #1 of Lesson Activities. This document will be used to practice uploading to OwlNet. You will use OlwNet to upload class documents as evidence of mastery for this class.

Week 1 Lesson Activities

  1. Prior to week 1 meeting, the Class Representative should contact the instructor and work with the University to secure a computer lab for the first face to face meeting. The computer lab should have an LCD projector for instructor use as well as workstations for each student in the class.
  2. Prior to week 1 meeting, students should contact class representative and know where to meet for the first face to face meeting.
  3. Week 1 - Autobiographical Sketch Activity. Bring this document with you on a storage device for uploading to OwlNet.

Some preliminary preparation for the Autobiographical Sketch Activity must be done prior to the first class session.
Prior to class, students should use Microsoft Word to complete a short biographical sketch of one to two paragraphs introducing themselves. 50 points

You should briefly include the following information:

  1. School district
  2. Grade level, subject area, coaching assignment(s), etc.
  3. What technology do you have available for use in your classroom/job assignment/coaching?
  4. How do you currently use technology in your field?
  5. Describe your comfort level with integrating technology into your field.
  6. Describe previous technology training/technology professional development.
  7. Include an appropriately sized photograph of yourself (it is suggested that you resize the photograph using photo editing software to maximum size of 640 on the largest size, otherwise your file final document may be too large and not upload in a timely manner into OwlNet) (some sources for digital pictures are digital cameras, cell phone cameras, scanning a photograph, your district yearbook sponsor, etc.)
